The annual Christmas tree hunt my wife's family takes every year meant we were home in just under nine hours on Sunday.

Growing up near Los Angeles meant my family were tree lot shoppers. It wasn't until I moved to Idaho that I learned you need three things to tree hunt in December, and that would be four-wheel drive, a bucket of chicken and a good functioning saw.

Our trip began at 9 AM on Sunday and took us by Cache Peak, south into Utah for some sightseeing, through the City of Rocks National Reserve, and back to Twin Falls by nightfall. It was my first time driving through the park, and it was absolutely beautiful.

Here are some photos from our trip that resulted in the discovery, legal removal and transport, of my family's 2018 Christmas tree.
