BOISE, Idaho (KTVB) - Jaialdi - the biggest Basque event in America - kicked off Tuesday, and it's tradition that the sitting Basque president make an appearance. President Inigo Urkullu kept that tradition alive Tuesday night when he touched down for the first time on Idaho soil. He and his wife were greeted by two dozen Boise Basques, including one of the Onkari Basque dancers. President Urkullu is scheduled to meet Gov. Butch Otter on Wednesday, and he says he hopes to meet with as many local Basques as possible. We will catch back up with the seventh president of the Basque Country later this week.
