Burley Man Sentenced for Having and Distributing Child Pornography

POCATELLO, Idaho (PRESS RELEASE) – Danny Henderson, 42, of Burley, Idaho, was sentenced yesterday to 20 years in prison for possessing, distributing, and receiving child pornography, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.  Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also imposed 15 years of supervised release.  Henderson pleaded guilty on February 10, 2016.

According to the plea agreement, on June 5 and 6, 2015, Henderson sent fifteen images of sexually exploitative images of minors via Twitter Direct Messaging, receiving in exchange eighteen images.  A subsequent search of his residence revealed several computers with numerous sexually exploitive images of minors.

Henderson admitted that he possessed the images, knowing the images contained visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and also knowing that production of such visual depictions involved the use of minors in sexually explicit conduct.  Henderson was previously convicted of lewd conduct with a child under 16 in 2002.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
