California Comes to Idaho: Part 2

We know why people are fleeing California but the stream is becoming a torrent.

This morning I was reading syndicated columnist Cal Thomas and he mentioned friends of his are planning to leave the state.  The list of reasons why includes crime, taxes, an unfriendly business climate and many people no longer recognize communities they’ve called home.

Thomas believes it’s why high-tax blue state politicians are for amnesty and open borders.  It’s an attempt to fill the increasing population void.  Fewer people in a state translates into fewer Representatives on Capitol Hill in Washington.

The loss of representation may also cost the blue states dearly.  As Victor Davis Hanson writes here, expensive boondoggles in California could mean bankruptcy.  More representation in Washington increases the possibility responsible taxpayers in other states will be called on to bail out California.  It’s becoming our own Venezuela.

Be prepared.  More hardworking refugees and retirees from our western neighbor are coming to Idaho.
