February 12, 2013 There was a time when I wanted to be a teacher...but then I realized that they put up with and deal with a lot more than I would have been able (plus I'm kind of lazy and radio seemed pretty easy). So I have great respect and appreciation for the teachers who educate our kids.

January 9, 2013 This school year has been an interesting one in The Bird House. Titus is in 3rd grade and now part of his homework is to type his book reports. Which up until Christmas had meant more work for us because we had to monitor him on our computer so he didn't erase any important files (not that he would on purpose...but if you have ever seen what a child can do to a computer then you know what I mean).
January 8, 2013 Today we had our first school closure of the year...and no doubt there will be more before summer. We understand that a school closure doesn't just affect the kids so we update you as soon as the schools know so you can plan your day.
January 4, 2013 Yesterday my kids school bus was about 10 minutes late and my wife told me that as she sat in the van with our kids that there were a bunch of kids standing on the corner freezing. One of the boys was even in just shorts and sneakers! You'll remember that yesterday it was around -2 in the morning.
