If you're a parent, it's the one thing you fear most when you're driving. The dread of the thought of losing one of your children in an accident. For one Magic Valley family, that fear became reality on Thanksgiving several years ago. Magic Valley paramedic, James Pennington, remembers that terrible day.
There are new stats that prove what many of us already know. In Idaho, we suck at driving. But, instead of just focusing on our own problems, I want to also point out that we're way better than the losers in Nevada.
I hope you never have to experience what Carlene, John and Captain Miller have lived through. Carlene's husband, Tony, was killed in an accident after John had a split-second of distracted driving. Captain Miller was one of the first responders at the scene. They discussed what their life is like now and how you can avoid being next.
This is insane. A guy dressed as a woman (no, not kidding) allegedly stole an ATV from a store in Rexburg. As he fled police, he collided violently with a vehicle at an intersection. Now, 2 different dashcam videos have been released that show the accident as it happened.
You never know when one moment in time will change your life forever. Carlene was married to Tony. John was a student at CSI in Twin Falls. One moment of distracted driving by John cost Tony his life. This is their story.
When you're a first responder, you would love to forget some of the many accidents in our area. Unfortunately, the lives lost remain in your memory. This is especially true of an accident many years ago that involved a mother and infant killed near Filer. Sergeant Ken Mencl from the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office recalls what happened that sad day.
