TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A woman has been charged in the death of a Twin Falls firefighter who had been riding his bike when he was struck by her Jeep.

The Times-News reports Hollie Winnett was charged Thursday with vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury or death. Thirty-four-year-old Ryan Franklin died at the scene of the Wednesday crash from blunt force trauma. Winnett told police she fell asleep while driving and woke up when her vehicle hit something.

She says she got out of the Jeep, but left the scene after not seeing anything on the road.  Sheriff's deputies found the badly damaged vehicle about 10 miles from the crash site. The judge released Winnett on her own recognizance, determining her likely to show up for her next court appearance.
