TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – You’ll be able to explore planet earth – and have fun doing it – at the Twin Falls Public Library starting later this month.

“Explore Earth: Our Changing Planet” is a national traveling exhibition that explores earth science topics, and will be on display at Twin Falls Public Library from Aug. 24-Oct. 21. Explore your local environment, such as the ecosystem, water cycle and weather.

“We are proud that TFPL was selected to be one of 14 sites nationwide to host the Explore Earth exhibit,” Library Director Tara Bartle said in a prepared statement. “We think people of all ages and backgrounds will find that the exhibition explores earth science in a way that is understandable, fulfilling, captivating and relevant.”

The interactive exhibit, which is free to the public, will be enhanced by several programs designed to showcase STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering, and math – for visitors of all ages. The program includes expert presentations, Saturday outdoor family events, book discussions and other activities.

The first presentation is planned for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 on the topic “Mining in Idaho” by former CSI professor and current Idaho State Historical Society trustee, Tom Blanchard, according to the news release.
