BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — An Idaho man who was fishing in an eastern South Dakota lake had to be rescued after a float tube accident. The Brookings County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Mark Locke, of Hagerman, Idaho, was fishing with two friends in Lake Sinai on Tuesday afternoon when current pulled his float tube away from shore and tipped it forward. Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says Locke ended up about 100 yards from shore and couldn't get himself upright.

He was face-down in the water and unconscious when one of his friends swam out to him. People at the scene and emergency crews used a canoe and a rope to pull Locke to shore. He was taken to a Brookings hospital with unspecified injuries.
