TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- A mother and father are behind bars after Jerome authorities pulled a minivan over with ten children inside. According to the Jerome County Sheriff's office the parents in the vehicle were allegedly under the influence of prescription medications. The sheriff's office says an anonymous person called police at around 9:45 a.m. Monday saying a green minivan "full of kids" driving reckless on U.S. Highway 93. Deputies later located the vehicle just east of Jerome.

The mother was driving the van, the father was the passenger. Authorities have not released their names. The parents had to be taken to St. Luke's Magic valley where they were admitted. The children ranging in ages from 6 months to 13 years old and all children of the two adults were placed in protective custody. The Jerome County Sheriff's office says the anonymous caller may have very well saved the children's lives. Charges are pending against the parents.
