You can't go anywhere without hearing updated information about Ebola in the United States. Is it heading this way? Are we safe? Are my children safe?

It is definitely a time when I am very thankful my family and I live in Idaho and also a time of prayer for those effected in Texas.

Even though Idaho is many miles away from Dallas, we are thinking about Ebola and wondering if it will spread to other parts of the country. Local health care professionals ask that people please remain calm.

They don't expect Idaho will see ANY cases of Ebola!

That being said, we all know people who travel daily and Ebola is deadly so, Ebola is a legitimate concern for everyone. Before you start thinking about everyone you know that travels... rest assured that our local hospitals are being pro-active.

Officers from the Preparedness and Response at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, recently sent an open letter to all U.S. health professionals with recommendations of general steps to prevent the spread of the disease in hospitals. This includes St Luke's in Twin Falls.

While we don't expect to see Ebola in Idaho, health care professionals are educating themselves on the proper steps to take in order to stop the spread of this deadly disease.
