CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A former southwest Idaho school bus driver involved in a crash that killed an 11-year-old student has been sentenced to 200 hours of community service or 30 days in jail.

Fifty-six-year-old Debra Boatwright received the sentence Monday in 3rd District Court after pleading guilty to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. The Idaho State Police says Boatwright was at fault for a December 5th collision with a dump truck that killed sixth-grader Daniel Cook and inured four other children.

Police say Boatwright failed to yield at a stop sign before pulling into an intersection. Boatwright also received two years of probation and had her driver's license revoked for one year.
