POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Idaho State University has seen a 2.1 percent drop in enrollment when compared to last fall.

The Idaho State Journal reports that according to the university's 10th-day total enrollment figures there are 11,025 students enrolled this semester while there were 11,259 at this time last year. University officials say they expected the decrease, which is mostly comprised of international students. International enrollment dropped by 513 students, or 36 percent.

Despite the overall drop in enrollment, officials say the number of Idaho resident students increased by 2.6 percent, or 227 students, and the number of non-resident domestic students and graduate students both increased by 4.8 percent. ISU officials expect enrollment numbers to continue to increase by Census Day on Oct. 15.
