BOISE (KTVB) - An infant died from his injuries at a Boise hospital Sunday afternoon, two days after a crash on Interstate 84, police said.

The two-month old was identified by family members as Kameron Fitzpatrick. He was a passenger in a car that was hit from behind by another car at about 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Idaho State Police say the boy was in a car seat of a Dodge Stratus driven by 21-year-old Justin Fitzpatrick, of Mountain Home. The car was going below the posted speed limit when it was rear-ended by a car driven by 50-year-old Steven Shelly, of Meridian, police said.

The infant was taken by air ambulance to a Boise hospital. An adult passenger in the car was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

The crash was the first of three that occurred on I-84, east of the Simco Road exit Friday evening.
