TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- An admitted Jerome gang member will have to spend 12 years behind bars for illegally possessing guns.

According to U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson Vicente Rene Ramirez, Jr., 33, of Jerome was sentenced to prison for unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a sawed-off shotgun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Ramirez will also have to serve five years of supervised released once he is let out of jail.

According to court documents Ramirez, also known as Little Gangster, pleaded guilty in August of this year to having a sawed-off shotgun and a .22 revolver. He had been previously convicted of a drug crime and was not allowed to have guns. Ramirez admitted to police he was a member of the Norteno gang and always carried a sawed-off shotgun.
