IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho judge has ordered a psychological evaluation to determine whether a man charged with terrorism and possession of explosive devices is fit to stand trial.

The Post Register reports that magistrate Judge James Barrett ordered Matthew Burgett of Blackfoot to undergo the exam on Monday. Idaho law allows a psychiatrist to determine whether a defendant should be jailed or hospitalized for further examination.

Bingham County deputies say Burgett was arrested after they received a tip that he was targeting religious groups and found homemade explosive devises at his home.

Burgett's attorney Manuel Murdoch asked for the preliminary hearing to be rescheduled while he is evaluated. Burgett is currently in jail on a $2 million bond
