JEROME, Id. ( KMVT/KSVT) A Jerome man has been arrested for felony Alluding and misdemeanor driving Under the Influence following a late night police pursuit.

At about 11:35 pm, Jerome Police Chief Dan Hall said a Jerome City Police Officer was westbound on I-84 when a Dodge pickup was seen swerving. When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield. The driver accelerated upwards to 117 m.p.h., exiting at Milepost 168.

The vehicle proceeded on Lincoln and then west on 300 south. After a few minutes, the vehicle crossed into Gooding County. At that point, Gooding County Deputies deployed a spike strip causing the vehicle to come to a stop a couple of miles later in that county.

Police say the suspect turned off the headlights several times. When officers approached the vehicle, the suspect refused to obey verbal commands eventually causing an officer to deploy a taser.

The driver was later identified as Gary Allen Jordan, 34 of Jerome. He was treated for cuts and abrasions before being booked into the Jerome County Jail.
