Several Game Bird Hunts Set to Open
JEROME Idaho (KLIX) – Idaho’s fall turkey season – and several other hunts – open this month in parts of the Gem State.
Magic Valley hunters may have to drive a ways to bag their bird, but if that’s not an issue, then good luck to you. The state’s general turkey season opens Friday in portions of the Panhandle, Clearwater and Southeast regions.
According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, other seasons bird hunters look forward to include the seasons for chukar, gray partridge and California quail, all which run from this Saturday, Sept. 16, through Jan. 31.
Sage grouse season also starts Saturday, but runs through only Sept. 22, while sharp-tail grouse season runs Oct. 1-31. Pheasant hunting and other seasons also are coming up, including the youth pheasant hunt Oct. 7-13.
