Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Jerome and Twin Falls Counties
The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a severe Thunderstorm Warning for Jerome County and east central Twin Falls County until 4:30 pm.
Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 7 miles south of Kimberly, or 10 miles southeast of Twin Falls, and moving northeast at 25 mph.
This severe thunderstorm will be near
- Rock Creek around 3:30 pm
- Hansen and Kimberly around 3:40 pm
- Murtaugh around 3:50 pm
- Hazelton, Eden, and Minidoka National Monument around 4:00 pm
- Milner dam around 4:10 pm
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions
Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds, destructive hail, deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the Road.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Twin Falls County remains in effect through 8:00 pm tonight.
