JEROME, Idaho (AP) — Authorities are investigating the shooting of a Shoshone man who drove himself to a hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest. KTVB-TV reports that Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall says the 63-year-old man, who works as a mechanic at a farm northeast of Jerome, had been driving a tow dolly when he was shot once in the chest Monday afternoon.

The man was able to drive himself to a Jerome hospital, and was later airlifted to a hospital in Boise. An update on his condition is not known. The shooting continues to be investigated.
