BUHL, Idaho (KLIX) – One person was taken to the hospital late Thursday night after a single-vehicle crash near Buhl.

The crash, which was reported about 10:43 p.m., occurred on River Road at Silver Creek Road off U.S. Highway 46, according to Idaho State Police.

Twin Falls resident Teodoro Garza, 34, was traveling eastbound on River Road in a 1993 Honda Accord, carrying passengers Tony Tellez, 37, and Heraclio Garza Nevarez, 22, both of Buhl. Garza failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right shoulder, according to ISP. The vehicle hit a fence and then a tree, and came to rest in the eastbound lane of travel.

Garza and Tellez were wearing their seat belts. Garza Nevarez, who was not wearing a seat belt, according to ISP, was taken by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The road was blocked for about five hours while crews worked to clear the scene. ISP was assisted by Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office and the Buhl Police Department.

The crash is still under investigation.
