You'd think the largest lake in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area would be easy to see and enjoy, but it's just not the case.

A national website just ranked each states most beautiful lake and Redfish took the top spot in Idaho. You have probably enjoyed Redfish in the Summer but have you ever seen it in the winter? Check out stunning photos of Redfish Lake and The Sawtooth Mountains.

Despite only 44 adult sockeye salmon returning from the Pacific Ocean to Idaho's central mountain lakes, there are more than 2,000 of the fish available for spawning.

There are a ton of places to go hiking near Stanley and Redfish Lake. If you have never been to the Lily Pond, it is a bit of a hike but totally worth it. And if you are not much of a hiker there is actually a ferry you can take to reduce the stress of the hike.

When I can't find time to travel to this area of the Gem State, I enjoy living vicariously through the footage of drone pilots that share remarkable area visuals on just about a weekly basis

Local YouTuber Hey Arnel recently shared a video of a place named Goat Lake Idaho and it is gorgeous.

I couldn't help but marvel at the surrounding Sawtooth Mountains, and the incredible backdrop they provided for an afternoon out with family.
