When I was a kid one of my friends did Kindergarten twice. He was a bit older than the rest of our group of friends so his parents decided to hold him back so he could go through school with the rest of us...which was cool because he got his license to drive while we were still in Junior High! Some parents are intentionally delaying when their kids start Kindergarten to give them an edge in school.

This school year has been an interesting one in The Bird House. Titus is in 3rd grade and now part of his homework is to type his book reports. Which up until Christmas had meant more work for us because we had to monitor him on our computer so he didn't erase any important files (not that he would on purpose...but if you have ever seen what a child can do to a computer then you know what I mean).

Yesterday my kids school bus was about 10 minutes late and my wife told me that as she sat in the van with our kids that there were a bunch of kids standing on the corner freezing. One of the boys was even in just shorts and sneakers! You'll remember that yesterday it was around -2 in the morning.
