For Idaho families embracing the joy of Christmas, sharing and stealing a white elephant gift is a tradition

Not a single person I asked this week about this most unusual holiday symbol knew what I was talking about.

Christmas is a holiday celebrated in millions of homes and yet I don't think that it is celebrated the same in any two houses. Each family has their own specific and sometimes unexplained traditions.

I love Christmas! This is when I get to wear my extremely ugly sweaters to parties! This is also one of the few times each year that my family (there are nine of us spread across the country) makes plans to get together and drink a lot of egg nog.
