The 2016 State Summer Games for the Special Olympics is being planned for Twin Falls in the summer of 2016. The event will draw an estimated 1,200 athletes from 30 teams to Twin Falls. 350 spectators are also estimated to attend the event.

This is the first time the State Summer Games will be held in Twin Falls. Last year the games were held in Moscow, and in 2014 the games were held in Payette.

Twin Falls plans on hosting the event for the next three years even though the games have typically moved every year in the past. Twin Falls was selected because of the city’s recent economic growth and venue availability.

The games are set to begin in Twin Falls on June 10th and continue through the 11th.
