It takes a unique kind of person in my opinion to strap themselves into a small, propeller-driven aircraft, and proceed to coast over an area like southern Idaho's Snake River Canyon.

Weight-shift control aircrafts, or "trikes," are a great way to tour popular destinations like the Snake River Canyon, that is, if you don't mind buzzing across the sky at 60 miles per hour with nothing between you and the ground but a small aluminum frame, propeller, three to four metal poles and a canvas sail.

I actually saw one of these things fly over me at just about 600 feet while I was kayaking a few weeks ago near the Perrine Bridge.
