Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Monday night the Twin Falls City Council took a big step in the city’s future. Over the past few months, the City and a Citizen’s Facility Advisory Committee have been working to find the best possible location for a new City Hall.

Over the years the city has outgrown the space they currently occupy, so a move was desperately needed. On Monday night the council received an official recommendation from the Citizens Committee. In a 17 to 22 vote, the committee recommended that the city should purchase the old Banner Furniture building and remodel it to fit their needs. And that’s exactly what the council did.

In a six to one vote, the council approved that recommendation. The next step will be to develop a plan for the building and being the bidding process. All of the funds used for the project will come directly out the city’s reserve funds, meaning no additional cost from tax payers.
