Twin Falls nonprofit Safe Harbor is constructing a new community soup kitchen. SafeHarbor.com notes there are approximately 141 homeless children in Twin Falls.

Safe Harbor began as a food pantry with the mission, "Creating freedom for those enslaved by hunger and poverty in the Magic Valley."

Many of the materials and labor have already been donated. They are aiming to raise $10,000 in community support to finish construction on the new soup kitchen with a GoFundMe campaign.

Safe Harbor has also provided a wish list:

  • Gift cards for food and supplies are always needed
  • New cookware
  • Tablecloths and long tables
  • Bins for bulk food
  • Canned food
  • Basic baking needs (flour,sugar,salt,pepper,baking powder, baking soda,cooking oil, brown sugar, dry noodles, dry beans, canned broth, any spices)
