TWIN FALLS, Id. ( KMVT/KSVT ) A Jerome man is in jail tonight after several police departments chased him down the freeway.

A Jerome City Police officer saw Jose Castillo Valdez at a gas station and recognized him as someone who had felony warrants out for his arrest. When the officer called out to him, Castillo got in his car and drove away.

This led to a high speed chase that involved the Gooding County, Buhl City, Twin Falls County and Idaho State Police departments. Police say Castillo drove eight miles into Twin Falls County before they caught him after he had a mechanical malfunction. He was arrested and taken to the Twin Falls County Jail.
