Have you ever let your mind wander to a scary place? You know. Like a daydream about the most terrible place imaginable. I've done that. I've imagined what would happen if Twin Falls were to put roundabouts on Blue Lakes.

If you're new to the concept of roundabouts, here's the Wikipedia definition:

roundabout, also called an islandtraffic circleroad circle and rotary, is a type of circular intersection or junction in which road traffic flows almost continuously in one direction around a central island.[1]

Traffic flows continuously. Sure. Put those at every intersection on Blue Lakes and see what happens. HELL ON EARTH.

The key to roundabouts is that drivers MUST watch for other drivers and pay attention. When is the last time ANYONE on Blue Lakes paid attention to anything?

Wikipedia shared this tidbit that would convince most people this is a good idea:

Roundabouts are safer than both traffic circles and junctions—experiencing 39% fewer vehicle collisions, 76% fewer injuries and 90% fewer serious injuries and fatalities (according to a study of a sampling of roundabouts in the United States, when compared with the junctions they replaced).

I will admit that I'm not objective about this. I truly believe that roundabouts are an invention of a group of serial killers trying to kill time in prison. So, let's leave this up to you. Should Blue Lakes have roundabouts? Vote in our poll.
