Who Plans Your Family Vacations?

When I was a kid and family vacation came around it was always a surprise. Our parents never asked where we wanted to go they would plan it and say "This is what we are doing." Luckily my parents had good taste in vacation destinations! In your house who plans the vacations?

A new study has found that only 1 in 14 families let the kids decide where to go. Now I don't know if the other 13 families are like my parents or if they let the kids have a say in the destination and activities...but this sounds like it could be a disaster. What if you plan a nice trip to Disneyland only to discover that none of your kids wants to go? That seems like a waste of money. Or planning a big camping trip and then finding that your already moody teenager hates camping! Right now in my house my wife makes the plans - but I am sure that once the kids are older with real opinions we will include them in the planning.
