30 American Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan

I understand that in a war there are casualties...but this is so sad.  A U.S. military helicopter was shot down by the Taliban in Afghanistan over the weekend.

--30 Americans and eight Afghans were killed when it crashed . . . making it the single biggest loss for U.S. troops in the ten years we've been in Afghanistan.

--And the helicopter was filled with 22 elite Navy SEALs . . . 20 of whom were from SEAL Team Six, the unit that took out OSAMA BIN LADEN.  Although none of the SEALs killed in the helicopter crash participated in the Osama raid.

--When the helicopter was shot down, they were on their way back from a mission to help some Army Rangers engaged in a gun battle with the Taliban.

--Just so you know, even after U.S. troops are withdrawn from Afghanistan . . . which could happen by 2014 . . . a ton of special forces units will stay behind for counterterrorism missions.
