
UPDATE – There Have Been 5 Fatal Accidents on Idaho Roads This Week
I celebrated when we made it through last weekend and no fatal accidents were announced by the Idaho State Police.
Those stats have changed greatly though in the last 3 days as there have now been 5 fatal accidents on Idaho highways since Tuesday.
These 5 Fatal Accident Happened This Week on Idaho Roads
The Idaho State Police have reported a fatal accident in Jerome on Tuesday and another in Caldwell, another fatal accident near Bear Lake on Wednesday, and 2 more fatal crashes on Thursday morning.
ISP also reported a response to a semi-truck on fire last night in Canyon County.

This Was the 5th Fatal Accident This Week in Idaho
An accident between a semi-truck and a Ford Explorer that killed the driver of the SUV near Homedale is being investigated by ISP. The crash happened Thursday morning just before 7 on US95 at mile marker 31.
In the ISP report, it states that the semi-truck, driven by a 23-year-old from Mexico, crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a Ford Explorer, driven by a 65-year-old female from Parma.
Less than an hour before the crash near Homedale, ISP troopers responded to a fatal accident near Grandview. This accident also involved a semi-truck but the report states that a Nissan Rogue was at fault in the fatal crash on SH 167 near mile marker 6.
ISP reported that the SUV was driven by a 32-year-old from Istanbul and the semi-truck (a cattle hauler) was driven by a 70-year-old man from Mountain Home. The driver of the Rogue was passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone and ran into the front of the cattle hauler. The Rogue driver was killed in the crash and the truck driver was taken to the hospital.

A third accident involving a semi-truck happened yesterday afternoon in Bear Lake County on US30. A passenger in a Lincoln SUV was killed in the crash - UPDATE - the driver of the Lincoln has also passed away from injuries sustained.
The ISP report states that a semi-truck driven by a 39-year-old male from Washington and a Lincoln MKC driven by an 85-year-old female from Idaho were stopped on US30 waiting for an accident to be cleared. A third vehicle, a semi-truck driven by a 42-year-old from Nevada, failed to stop and crashed into the Lincoln and the trailer of the first semi-truck.
The first 2 vehicles each had other occupants and the passenger in the Lincoln succumbed to his injuries.
