Beyonce Delivers Hit-Filled Glastonbury Set

Beyoncé skipped out on the 2011 BET Awards last night, but she had a good excuse: she was making history at England’s Glastonbury Music Festival.

Strange as it might sound in the 21st century, Beyoncé became the first African-American to headline Glastonbury over the weekend — and she did it in style, bringing her dazzling stage show and a hit-packed set list to the festival, while still making room for a pair of tracks from her latest solo release, ’4.’

Singing before over 175,000 concertgoers, Beyoncé led things off with the one-two punch of ‘Crazy in Love’ and ‘Single Ladies,’ setting the tone for a 90-minute set that included a cover medley (featuring ‘You Oughta Know’ and the Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams’), some Destiny’s Child hits, and the new songs ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ and ‘End of Time.’

“I’ve done a lot of things in my life,” the superstar said in an understated quip, “but I have never performed in front of 175,00 people.”
