TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) - Twin Falls Police are investigation the discovery of a car in the Snake River Canyon Thursday morning.

UPDATE 11/13/15 -

The Twin Falls County Coroner Gene Turley has identified the victim as Timothy Ray Marlow, 67, of Buhl, Idaho. Turley said the body was undergoing an autopsy Friday morning to determine if a medical condition may have played a part in the accident. Turley says they don't believe suicide was a factor based on discussions with the family.

According to City Spokesman Josh Palmer witnesses said they notice a car at the bottom of the canyon Thursday morning and reported it. Early reports indicated witnesses actually saw the vehicle go into the canyon, which was not accurate. Officials are not sure when it happened. Investigators are viewing surveillance video to help determine what happened. Palmer says investigators believe the car drove from the Sportsman's Warehouse parking lot through a fence and into the canyon. The call to authorities came in after 10am.

At around 11am firefighters were going down the canyon side with ropes. The body was recovered after 3pm from the canyon. The vehicle will need to be recovered by crane.
