Today was the big day for KOOL! We switched from the Superhits to the Christmas Station and not everyone was happy. I spent the morning on the phone taking requests and fielding questions about why we started the music so early.

Since some point in time in 2013 'twerking' became popular with the kids of the world. At its onset it seemed like a cute fad that wouldn't last...we were wrong. Twerking is everywhere now and sometimes it is funny, but it is not always a good thing!

Kids Fest was another huge success this year!We hosted our annual kid's coloring contest and are giving away a pass to Roaring Springs. It's time to vote!

Oh boy - if you are easily annoyed by the small distractions in movie theaters now - this is going to really grind your gears! There is a movie theater that encourages texting during movies!

I know times have changed - but when I was a kid I would leave the house in the morning and not come home sometimes until dinner. Apparently today that is child endangerment! Recently a mother was arrested for letting her 7 year old son go to the park alone.

It is no secret that I hate/fear spiders! It is nice to know that I am not alone in my fear of the eight legged spawn of Satan. But is your fear of spiders at this level - have you ever lit a spider on fire to kill it?

OK - I am not a germiphobe. I am a guy though and I think that makes me gross/dirty by default. But when it comes to toilet germs I am over aware! I hate public bathrooms. I understand that for a business to keep their toilet rooms clean is tough...but even if you clean it every hour - it is still a public bathroom!

The new Hercules movie comes out this week with the Rock and previous Hercules actor Kevin Sorbo is mad that he didn't get to make a cameo in the movie.

With the 4th of July happening this week there has been a pretty consistent explosion sound every night between 9 and midnight. Apparently my neighbors are rich and have money to blow (literally) every day! It really is impressive to look back at the great inventions of our time. It is even more impressive to look at how quickly some of the greatest inventions were replaced by better technology. What do you think was the greatest invention of the last 100 years?

Like the world needs an easier way to get alcohol into the human body...but here it is. The government has approved powdered liquor. A company has figured out how to make vodka, rum, and some mixed drinks into powder. Then you just add water and enjoy.

This is the age old argument - what music is the best? I love classic rock and my wife is a fan of pop music.
