An attendee of a weekend gathering in Jerome has used Craigslist as a platform to announce to that evening's company that a sexually transmitted disease might have been among the party favors. I'm itching to know what sexual malady might have been festering that evening.

Apparently, someone described by the STD whistle-blower as "a young, wild, dark-haired nymph," might have either spread, or been exposed to, a disease of sorts. I'm still trying to make sense of the information in the March 27 Craigslist warning. Apparently, shots of not just the party variety might be in order for whoever might have been on the receiving end of the night's "potential exposure."

It might not be a bad idea to help spread the word to anyone you might know who could have possibly got down a little too hard at the party. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, along with several Idaho news sources, have reported a statewide rash of STD outbreaks--namely syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea--since 2017.

The increase in STD rates in the Gem State no doubt has some Idahoans scratching their heads. This Craigslist party post is just oozing with potential red flags.

Remember, the effects of having unprotected sex can be a grind on the nation's fiscal reserve, and costs an estimated $16 billion to treat in the U.S. annually, according to data available from the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
