France Bans Ketchup from School Menus (But Keeps Mayo) [VIDEO]
Sacrebleu! France recently introduced a new dietary guideline for elementary school students which limits the use of a favorite American condiment: ketchup.
Students will be allowed to eat ketchup only once a week when served french fries. And ketchup on traditional French dishes is now considered a faux pas of the highest order.
Officials say the condiment has been banned in order to promote healthy eating and combat obesity. Yet, inexplicably, mayonnaise remains on the menu. Maybe they’re still peeved over the whole “freedom fries” thing. Catch up on the story with a ‘Today’ report below. Get it? “Catch Up”? Goodnight, folks! Try the waiters, tip your veal.
