National Ice Cream Month is the perfect excuse to discover another amazing local Idaho ice cream shop and this week, my ice cream tour takes us to LoveJoy’s Ice Cream, and if you’ve never stopped in… you’re in for a treat.

Actually… several treats.

Small Batch Makes a Big Difference

The first thing you’ll notice about LoveJoy’s is that they make their ice cream right in the shop in small batches.  To me, that’s what sets them apart.

You can taste the freshness, and because they’re making smaller batches, every scoop is packed with flavor and unbelievably creamy.

Fresh, Local, and Made From Scratch

This is another reason I keep going back.  LoveJoy’s makes all of their toppings and baked goods from scratch, using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible.

Whether you’re adding homemade cookie crumbles, caramel, or another topping to your favorite flavor, you can definitely tell they believe in quality over shortcuts.

And yes… it makes a difference.

It’s More Than Just Ice Cream

Need lunch before dessert?  LoveJoy’s also serves hot paninis, chips, and old-fashioned bottled sodas, making it an easy stop whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or treating the family after dinner.

Of course… I’m still going for the ice cream.

You’ll find them:

Meridian Road & Overland Road in Meridian

Bown Crossing in Southeast Boise

Five Mile & Ustick in West Boise (their newest location, which opened in late 2025)

So chances are there’s one not too far from wherever your summer adventures take you.
