Halloween was on Friday night and while there were all sorts of spooky and scary characters running around the Treasure Valley--in festive form--on particularly scary story has surfaced.

While police all across the Treasure Valley work working overtime to keep the streets and community safe during a hectic holiday -- officers in Caldwell made a traffic stop that took an unexpected turn: meth, guns, and fentanyl.

Fentanyl is taking lives of people all across America and folks all across the political spectrum agree that it's out of control. It's heartbreaking to hear and realize that the drug is impacting our very own area, too.

The Caldwell Police Department released the following statement following the bust:

Officers arrived on scene and stopped a suspicious vehicle leaving the area which was occupied by Anthony Gomez, a known gang member and Stormy Rachel Stephens. During the investigation it was determined Stormy was under the influence of methamphetamine and had a loaded firearm on her person. Anthony was found to be on parole for narcotics trafficking offenses. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a large quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl powder, hundreds of fentanyl pills and another loaded firearm.

After authorities searched the vehicle, they obtained a warrant to search the residence, which resulted in even more drug and firearm discoveries.

In total, the Caldwell Police Department confiscated:

  • 600 fentanyl pills (in the residence)
  • Numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia
  • A total of 4 ounces of meth
  • 6.5 grams of powdered fentanyl
  • 834 total fentanyl pills
  • 4 firearms
