It is no secret that everything is continuing to go up in price these days. As each year ticks by, it seems everything becomes harder to afford. This can be cars, homes, gas, and even groceries or clothing. As prices go up, everyone is looking for the best deals and how to save money when they can. There are certain items when out grocery shopping that you may want to buy now, because their prices are on the rise in 2025 in Idaho, Washington, and Utah.

The most obvious item on the list is the one that is getting the most headlines these days and that is eggs have gotten pricier than most could ever imagine. In some stores, they are up to over $8 a carton and continue to rise. This is all due to a bird flu breakout back in 2022, that has affected over 102 million egg-laying hens.

Another item you may want to stock up on before the price increases is wine. Wine has been increasing over the last year, and has seen its prices increase by around 15%, especially in the Western United States. If you are someone that enjoys a glass, it might be wise to stock up on a few bottles or cases, before it rises again.

Boneless chicken breasts are often used for many dinners. They can be cut up and used for casseroles, fried chicken, or any number of types of dishes. With the price increasing, it would be wise to invest in boneless chicken breast and toss it in the freezer if you have the room. The average price per pound is currently north of $5 and is up over 7% from last year around this time.

Milk prices have continued to increase, but specifically whole milk is on the rise. It may not seem like a lot but the price of whole milk is up over 6% from this time last year, and it likely will continue to increase throughout the year. You could switch to a different type of milk, but if you have little ones, whole milk is the way to go. Unfortunately, milk is not something you can stock up on due to its short shelf life.

For anyone that enjoys bacon, they will hate to hear that it is going up in price in 2025. The average price per pound in early 2025 is $7.30, but will likely be more than that by the end of the year. Compared to this time last year, that is an increase of over 5%. Make sure to stock up on bacon the next time you are in the store to save money, and to make sure you always have some in stock.

Who doesn't love having spaghetti or macaroni? Noodles are typically cheap and make for an easy meal, but the price of these two is going up as well. While it is unlikely to break the bank, it shows that no food item is safe from a price increase these days, having increased by 5% in the last year.

Depending on the food item, it is best to stock up on whatever you can whenever you have room to store it. These price increases may not be a big deal to everyone, but as the days, weeks, and months tick by the prices will gradually increase. Stock up now, and if at worst, you can sell your items for a profit, while still giving others a discount in the future.
