Idaho State Police are investigating a four-vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:19 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Pump Road in Canyon County.
Series of Collisions Involving Motorcycles and a Car
A 2015 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Lake Shore Drive when a group of motorcycles headed westbound. Among them, a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle attempted to catch up with the other motorcyclists. The Harley Davidson crossed into the eastbound lane, sideswiping the Honda Accord. In response, the driver of the Accord swerved into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with a 2010 Victory motorcycle. Shortly after, a 2023 Can-Am Ryker, driven by a 49-year-old from Nampa, struck the Honda Accord. All vehicles came to a stop at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Pump Road.
Injuries and Transport to Local Hospitals
The driver of the Honda Accord, a 47-year-old woman from Highlands, California, was wearing her seatbelt and sustained no reported injuries. The driver of the Victory motorcycle, a 33-year-old woman from North Platte, Nebraska, was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Harley Davidson rider, a 34-year-old woman from Boise, was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.
Road Closure and Ongoing Investigation
The intersection of Lake Shore Drive and Pump Road remained closed for approximately three hours while authorities investigated and cleared the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
