Have Fun at 7 Events Taking Place This Thanksgiving Weekend in the Magic Valley
The holiday season is finally here, and many will be hosting family and friends or traveling for the weekend. There will be plenty of food eaten, football watched, naps taken, and memories created. It is one of the best weeks and weekends of the year and one that comes with plenty to do. While Thursday will be preoccupied with preparing and eating food, the rest of the weekend can often be wide open. There is plenty to do this holiday weekend in the Magic Valley to get out and have fun with friends and family. Here are some of the events taking place.
Friday, November 29 - Boise State Football
The football season is ending, and this weekend marks the final weekend of the regular season. Boise State has plenty of football left to play this year still if things go right this weekend. They will host the Oregon State Beavers this Friday at 10 AM, with the game being televised on Fox, or you can find tickets by clicking the link above. A win would keep playoff hopes alive for the Broncos as they would end the regular season 11-1 and play for the conference championship the following week. Go Broncos.
Friday, November 29 & Saturday, November 30 - HWY 93 Indoor Vendor Show
Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year and stores will be packed with people looking to get the best deals possible this weekend. Instead of going to the big brand stores, how about shopping locally? Stop by the HWY 93 Black Friday Indoor Vendor Show happening Friday and Saturday at the Mountain View Barn. The show will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Friday and 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday. There will be a variety of vendors to help you find the perfect gift, as well as food, espresso, Santa, and more. Admission is free. For more on the show, click the link above.
Friday, November 29 - Christmas in the Nighttime Sky
When do the holidays officially begin? For some it is the day after Halloween, and for others the day after Thanksgiving. In the Magic Valley, many think of it as when Christmas in the Nighttime Sky is, as it welcomes the holiday season with a bang. The annual event is back and will be happening this Friday at Kimberly Nurseries in Twin Falls, beginning at 5 PM. Parking will be available at Lighthouse Church with buses shuttling guests to and from the event. Entrance is an unused and unwrapped toy for ages infant to 16. This year they will be joined by American Hitmen and Acacia Ridge. For more on the show or to get tickets, click the link above.
Time with family and friends is the most important part of this weekend, but that doesn't mean you can't get out and have some fun with them. Whatever you decide to do, have fun, be safe, enjoy your weekend, and have a happy Thanksgiving.
