Pedestrian Killed East of Twin Falls Monday Morning

Long before sunrise, a fatal accident occurred east of Kimberly on November 20th. Idaho State Police released a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle at about 4 AM. The incident happened on State Highway 50 at milepost .03 in Twin Falls County.

A 2010 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by a 53-year-old female from Hansen, was driving westbound on State Highway 50 when she collided with a pedestrian walking eastbound in the lane of travel.

The pedestrian, a 33-year old male from Burley, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and did not need to be transported for medical attention. All lanes were blocked until about 7 AM Monday morning to allow for emergency responders and investigators to clear the scene.

4 Recent Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Idaho

On November 14th, a pedestrian succumbed to injuries after being struck while standing in the lane of travel. On November 5th, a pedestrian was struck near Minico High School in Rupert and died at the scene. On October 25th, there were 2 separate fatal incidents involving pedestrians. The Critical Incident Task Force was called in to investigate a fatal car versus pedestrian incident involving an ISP trooper in Cassia County, and another involving a pedestrian trying to cross lanes of travel on I-84 in Meridian.

There was also a hit and run on November 7th with a driver striking a firefighter who was responding to an accident on the road.

Drivers are urged to slow down when passing cars or accidents on the side of the road.
