Man Dies in Fatal Crash on Idaho Highway
Man Killed in Single Vehicle Crash on Idaho State Highway 57
PRIEST LAKE, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) are investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred on State Highway 57 near milepost 18 in Bonner County.
Details of the Crash
On September 18, 2024, at approximately 10:03 p.m., ISP, along with the Bonner County Sheriff's Department, responded to the scene of a crash. A 67-year-old man from Granville, Ohio, was driving a white 1999 GMC Yukon southbound on SH 57 when he veered left of center. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a group of small trees off the northbound shoulder.
Fatal Outcome
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Bonner County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
Traffic and Response
For about an hour, traffic on SH 57 was blocked in both directions as emergency responders processed the scene. A single lane was later opened to allow vehicles to pass.
Investigation Ongoing
Next of kin have been notified. The Idaho State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
