Should Playing Music In Golf Carts Be Banned At Idaho Courses?
Playing music on the golf course can be met with some pretty swift consequences from both staff or other people playing a round. I've seen this very thing boil into a heated exchange more than once.
I've been golfing for over 30 years. I've seen some pretty crazy things go down during a round. From people getting arrested and deliberately hitting balls into carts, to drunken morons stealing flags and crashing carts into sand traps. One thing I see every time I head out is people playing music inside their carts.
I'm a supporter of listening to music while golfing, as long as the volume isn't so loud that it's causing a disruption to others. Some courses don't allow speakers in carts, so some people resort to earbuds. Personally, earbuds would drown out any warnings from others golfers like 'FOUR!,' the universal warning for a golf ball going astray and headed right for another group, so I would never wear them on the course.

Should Cart Music Be Banned On Idaho Golf Courses?
I recently came across two websites where people asked the question whether or not music should be allowed in carts while playing golf. One source was Reddit, and the other Meta (Facebook). The responses were interesting, and the majority of those who commented back are in support of listening to music while playing.

Here are a few of the responses:
M/FB: 'Absolutely not. Rule 1.2a - show consideration to others. If, for some reason, you need music while playing ... then wear ear buds, buddy.'
R: 'Play music if you want to. But if I can hear it on the next fairway or on the green ahead of you then it's too loud.'
M/FB: 'I play my music, drink and smoke cigars when I play golf . But I'm always mindful about other golfers around me.'
R: 'Not a fan. It’s rarely “confined” to just your cart/group. When you’re in a adjacent fairway to another group they are hearing it too.'
M/FB: 'If you want to listen to music, then Don't play Golf. There are serious golfers out there too. Show Respect.'
R: 'If I can’t hear it I don’t care. Unfortunately people that play music generally want everyone else to enjoy their poor taste as well.'
