How Long Are Your Fireworks Good For in ID, WA, and UT?
Fourth of July is here, and many are excited to enjoy the holiday grilling, eating, attending parades, and watching the fireworks. While going to firework shows is fun, many also enjoy doing their display as they spend money on different types of fireworks and have fun blowing them up. It can be the best experience, but it can also turn sour in a hurry if one malfunctions. Many will look to empty their collection before the end of July 5th, which is the final day to shoot them off. If you don't shoot off all of your fireworks this year, how long can you hold onto them before they are no longer good?
How Long Are Fireworks Good For in Idaho, Washington, and Utah?
When the Fourth of July rolls around, many flock to firework stands to load up on different types of fireworks. The plan is to always empty the stash and put on a show for friends, family, and the neighborhood. From time to time, people get distracted watching other fireworks, get tired from a long day, or it takes longer to shoot everything off than initially thought. The question then turns to how long you can keep your fireworks before they expire and are no longer able to be set off? Depending on how they are stored depends on how long you can have them and still have them function properly.
Storing Old Fireworks in Idaho, Washington, and Utah
There is no true expiration date on fireworks, although it is recommended to use them within 2 to 5 years; they can become duds if not stored properly. The best way to keep them safe is to keep them in a cold, dark, and dry room. Do not store them in sheds, garages, or attics, as the temperature outside, especially during the summer, is not good for them. It is best to keep them in a plastic tub and in a closet or a basement. If in doubt and not wanting to store them, soak them in water before disposing of them. If you have leftover fireworks, you are not allowed to throw them in the trash can without soaking them.

Have fun and be safe this Fourth of July if lighting off fireworks, and if you have any left over, take the proper steps to make sure they are stored safely to keep them good until the next time you want to set some off.
