I am a lover of city parks. I think there should be more of them. But, there are a few problems with city parks that people are consistently battling.

The best way to battle a problem is to keep going back to the fight. Call law enforcement if you see a problem they need to address. Call the city if there is broken equipment or potholes. If nobody says anything is wrong, nobody knows to make them better.

If You Take Your Kids to These Parks, Watch Closely

There are a few parks in Twin Falls that could use some attention. They aren’t bad places but can be used as such. If your kids go here, don’t let them go without supervision.

South Park has great baseball fields and courts. The playground feels a bit sketchy. Supervision definitely required.

Dierkes Park is hit-and-miss. Sometimes great, sometimes not as much. It depends on how the crowd is. Be positive and not reactionary if someone rubs you the wrong way. Water in the area. Watch the littles.

Drury Park is a sweet little spot along a busy street and a nice use of an awkward space. The equipment is getting a little tired. Don’t throw a ball. Somebody’s car might get hit.

There was a shooting in 2015, but when plenty of families are here, it’s not too bad. When it is just your family, it feels a bit off.

Tucked away in a shady spot, there’s not really any parking. There are no sidewalks either. Not always the most visible spots to keep away a shadowy element.

Well, one side of the park has a sidewalk and the other has parking. It has a small playground and a backstop for baseball with a field. It has a trash can and a portable toilet. I’m trying to be positive, but it still feels sketchy.

You would think with all the awesome stuff at this park, it wouldn’t feel sketchy. There is too much of a bad element that frequents this park to let your children visit here unattended.
