Rare March 80 Degree Heat Aimed At Southern Idaho
If you thought March has been a warm month so far in southern Idaho, just wait until next week. A weather system is bringing summer-like temperatures to the region by mid-week.
Spring begins on Friday (March 20), but it's going to feel more like late-summer in the Magic Valley next week when temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-eighties by Thursday.
The approaching warm front definitely won't help the region's snowpack following the worst February snow totals in decades, so the mild drought southern Idaho is experiencing looks to not have an end in sight.

Summer-Like Heat Is Coming To The Magic Valley Before Spring Begins Next Week
The current weather forecast for southern Idaho is predicting 80 degree temperatures by Wednesday (March 18). This warm weather will likely last through Friday, according to The National Weather Service.

The weather for Twin Falls for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Tuesday should have temps in the low-seventies by the start time of 4 P.M. It's also going to be a great week to get some early hiking or kayaking in before the warm weather is here to stay for a while.
Area schools will also be enjoying spring break next week, so expect the young ones to want to get outdoors as well after five months of chilly, winter weather.
Enjoy the heat! Hopefully, April and May will bring some sizable storms to the region and help bail the lower Gem State out of its drought.
