So, when is the most dangerous time to be on the road in Idaho? According to bigauto.com, the most dangerous time of the day is between 4 PM and 5 PM to be on the road. The most dangerous month is July, with the most dangerous day of the week being Saturday.
Does Idaho Have Too Many Road Fatalities?
For those curious, the driving conditions when most fatalities happen are actually during clear conditions and during daylight. While many claim driving at night is more dangerous, this study shows that over 73 percent of fatalities occur during clear conditions and 57 percent occur during daylight. From 2014 to 2023, Idaho was in the middle in rankings of fatalities, ranking 25, with 2,335 total deaths over that timespan on the road. That is 6.01 percent higher than the national average.
